Top 100 Heisman Candidates

There's a new list out on Fox Sports about the top 100 Heisman Trophy Candidates. Well, we all know who the top 10 are, but why do we need to know who the top 100 are? Andrew Silva draws 100 man. And in case you aren't aware, 85 people on this list will never be considered again the rest of the season. It angered me to read this list and think that Fox Sports really thought these people had a legitimate shot at winning. It may sound unfair, but you CANNOT win the Heisman unless you are on a top 10 team, and that's pushing it. The last 5 Heisman winners are as follows.

2001: Eric Crouch, Nebraska
2002: Carson Palmer, USC
2003: Jason White, Oklahoma
2004: Matt Leinart, USC
2005: Reggie Bush, USC

Now there finishes in the BCS...
2001: Nebraska - #4
2002: Southern Cal - #5
2003: Oklahoma - #1
2004: Southern Cal - #1
2005: Southern Cal - #1

This is really a joke. I've never even heard of most of these guys, and Fox Sports thinks they can win a Heisman? Here is the list to read for yourself. Dont read it unless you want to be mad.

that guy is an idiot!!! first of all in the modern era, only 1 defensive player, Charles Woodson, has won and he Peyton should have won that year. So scratch off all defensive players.
Second, the writer list several people who are backups-not even good enough to start on their own team- so how will a #2 win a Heisman trophy?
Third, he has listings with multiple players - sorry but whole trojan backfield (#37 on his list)isn't gonna four way split a Heisman.
Finally, true freshmen aren't going to win a Heisman. He has several of those on his list also.
So the point is only about 10 of the players listed at most have a real, legitimate chance at winning. So then why not make a top ten list of candidates like everyone else!! I repeat the writer is stupid.
